Obverse description Radiate bust of Domitian facing right, draped and cuirassed, with the distinctive radiate crown identifying the denomination as a dupondius. The emperor is portrayed with characteristic Flavian facial features. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XV CENS PER P P, running clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is rendered in the assertive, idealized style typical of the later Domitianic bronze coinage struck at Rome.
