| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Emperor Claudius facing right, rendered in a realistic portrait style with detailed hair and prominent facial features. The effigy is draped at the shoulder and presented in high relief against a flat field. The encircling legend reads TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP P P, distributed around the periphery in well-spaced Latin capitals. This is a restruck type issued under Titus, reproducing the original Claudian obverse design as part of the Flavian restitution coinage programme. |
