| Obverse description | Bare head of the deified Augustus facing left, rendered in fine classical style with naturalistically modelled hair swept across the brow and falling in locks behind the neck. The legend DIVVS AVGVSTVS arcs around the upper field, while the senatorial authority mark S C is prominently placed to either side of the effigy in the lower field.
