| Obverse description | Bare-headed and radiate effigy of the deified Augustus facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair swept back from the forehead and a radiate crown denoting his divine status. The bust is draped, truncated at the shoulder, and presented in a naturalistic portrait style characteristic of early Imperial Roman bronze coinage. The large senatorial mark S C (Senatus Consulto) appears prominently in the field to either side of the portrait. The circular legend DIVVS AVGVSTVS runs along the border within a beaded rim, proclaiming Augustus's consecrated divine status. |
