Obverse description Crowned and armored bust of King Władysław IV Vasa facing right, depicted with a beard and wearing elaborately engraved plate armor with a lace collar visible at the neck. The king's crown is of open royal form with prominent fleurons. The circumferential legend in Latin reads VLAD IIII D G REX POL M D LIT RVS PR, separated from the portrait by an inner beaded border. The portrait is rendered in the late Renaissance hammered style characteristic of the Toruń mint in the first half of the seventeenth century.
