Reverse description The arms of the city of Toruń displayed within an oval shield, depicting a triple-towered fortified gate in masonry style. Flanking the shield is a spread-winged angel acting as supporter, its body emerging above the shield. The date is divided on either side of the shield (16-49), with the mintmaster's initials G-R placed below. The encircling Latin legend MONETA AUREA CIVIT THORUNENSIS identifies this as a gold coin of the city of Toruń. The design is contained within a beaded border.
