Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of King Stanisław August Poniatowski facing right, rendered in fine relief with elaborately curled hair falling to the shoulder in the late Baroque manner. The effigy occupies the central field and is surrounded by a continuous Latin legend reading STANISLAUS AUG D G REX POL M D L, denoting his royal and grand ducal titles. The coin is bordered by a fine inner ring of closely spaced radial denticles running along the full circumference.
