Obverse description Right-facing crowned bust of Jan II Kazimierz Waza, wearing an ornate crown with cross finial, his hair flowing in loose curls to the shoulder. The king is draped in armour with a decorative gorget and mantle visible at the truncation. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the baroque manner typical of mid-17th century Polish coinage. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the royal legend divided around the bust reading IOCAS D G REX POL (Joannes Casimirus Dei Gratia Rex Poloniae).
