| 正面描述 | Central field depicts two hands clasped in a handshake — a symbol of the pacta conventa — with a gate or architectural structure (representing the Cracow city gate or coronation arch) visible in the right field. A laurel branch decorates the left side of the coin. The legend, arranged around the periphery and across the lower field in multiple lines, records the king's name and the date and place of the coronation ceremony. The inscription reads IOANNES CASIMIRUS CORONATUS ANNO 1649 D. 17. JANV. COMPACTUM DESUPER in Latin, commemorating the coronation compact concluded with the nobility. |

Jan II Kazimierz was crowned in January 1649, just months after the catastrophic defeat at Batoh and amid the opening violence of the Khmelnytsky Uprising — a rebellion that would bleed the Commonwealth for the better part of a decade. Coronation ducats of this type were not struck for circulation; they were presentation pieces distributed during the ceremony itself, pressed into the hands of dignitaries and scattered among crowds as largesse.
The Kop(-) reference signals Kopicki found no catalogued example, which is consistent with the survival rate for pieces of this kind — handled briefly, then hoarded or melted.
