Obverse description The field is occupied entirely by a three-line Latin inscription reading D / GEL / RIÆ, arranged centrally, with the date 1757 below. Flanking the letter D at the top are two rosette ornaments, and at the base of the design appear two additional rosettes flanking the mint privy mark, a crane bird rendered in low relief. The coin has no wreath border, and the entire design is set within a milled edge. The bold, widely spaced lettering is characteristic of the Harderwijk mint style of the mid-eighteenth century.
