| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, an armored knight on horseback prances to the right, brandishing an upraised sword in his right hand. The horse is depicted in a dynamic rearing posture, rendered in high relief characteristic of the Dutch 'zilveren rijder' type. Beneath the horse, the crowned city arms of Deventer appear in the field. The encircling legend reads MONO.ARG.CIVIT.DAVENTRIAE, distributed around the periphery within a beaded outer border. |
