| Reverse description | The crowned arms of the Seven United Provinces occupy the central field, elaborately mantled and supported on either side by rampant crowned lions. Beneath the central shield, a smaller escutcheon bearing the city arms of Amsterdam is prominently placed, serving as the mintmark of the Amsterdam Mint. The date 1673 appears at the top of the field integrated into the legend. The entire composition is rendered in the high-relief Baroque style typical of Dutch provincial piedfort issues, the square klippe shape accentuating the monumental character of the design. |
