Reverse description The elaborate arms of the Dutch Republic occupy the central field: a shield bearing a rampant lion brandishing a sword and a bundle of arrows, surmounted by an ornate imperial crown decorated with floral motifs. The shield is supported on either side by crowned rampant lions standing on foliate scrollwork. The date 1754 appears within a cartouche at the base of the composition. The circular Latin motto legend surrounds the entire heraldic device, separated by a floral ornament at the top.
