The circumferential Latin legend SEDE • VACANTE • * • DEC • ET • CAPLI • LEOD • encircles the design, proclaiming the authority of the Dean and Chapter of Liège during the vacancy of the episcopal see. A beaded border frames the entire reverse field. |
