Reverse description Within a polylobe border decorated with trefoils at each interior angle, a cross pattée occupies the central field, its splayed terminals nearly reaching the inner points of the lobe. The entire motif is enclosed within a beaded circle, with the peripheral legend in Latin uncial characters running around the outer field. The design follows the established Genoese ducat tradition referencing the nominal overlordship of the Holy Roman Emperor.
