| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central device depicting a castle gateway (the Genoese portcullis gate) set within a polylobe frame, each interior point of the lobe decorated with a small crosslet. The architectural motif is rendered in the late medieval style characteristic of Genoese hammered gold coinage. The central device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend occupying the surrounding field. The inscription identifies the doge by his initials and title, and records his ordinal number as twenty-sixth Doge of Genoa. |
