| Reverse description | A cross pattée is displayed at center within a polylobe arch, each interior point decorated with a small star. The design is enclosed within a beaded circle, with the peripheral Latin legend invoking Conrad, King of the Romans — a traditional formula retained on Genoese gold coinage long after its original political context had lapsed. The legend terminates with the initial of the responsible mint official, in this instance the letter D, serving as a die-sinker or monetary official's mark. The reverse composition follows the standard iconographic program of the Genovino ducat series. |
