Obverse description Central field occupied by the complete crowned arms of Schauenstein set within an ornate baroque cartouche with scrollwork flanking the shield on either side. The coat of arms is quartered and displays the heraldic charges of the lordship in fine detail. A fish crest surmounts the crown above the shield, serving as the helmet ornament. The circular Latin legend runs along the inner border, interrupted at intervals by stops, reading the titles and territorial designations of the ruling lord. The coin exhibits a milled or grained outer border of fine reeding.
