| Reverse description | The seated figure of the Madonna is depicted in three-quarter view, holding the Christ Child on her left arm, rendered in the devotional style typical of Hungarian-type ducats of the late 16th century. The Virgin is shown enthroned or seated, with the infant Christ gesturing in blessing. A crowned heraldic shield appears at the top of the field above the figures. The surrounding Latin legend, distributed around the inner beaded border, identifies the Virgin as the Patroness of Hungary. The execution is characteristic of hammered provincial coinage imitating the Marian reverse of the Hungarian royal ducat tradition. |
