The eagle's wings are spread and each head is crowned, with the overall composition filling the coin field in bold relief. The continuous Latin motto legend begins at approximately 7 o'clock and runs clockwise around the eagle, concluding with the date of issue. The reverse design follows established Habsburg heraldic conventions for mid-18th century gold coinage. |

Francis Stephen of Lorraine held the Hungarian throne jointly with his wife Maria Theresa, though in practice the Habsburg lands were entirely her domain. His co-ruler status was constitutional formality; Maria Theresa wielded executive authority and made no secret of it. Coins issued under his name during this period reflect a political arrangement rather than any meaningful division of power.
The ÉH#1283 attribution places this issue firmly within the Hungarian ducats catalogued by Éremhatározó, a series notoriously difficult to attribute by mint year without die analysis. The 1749–1751 window corresponds to Kremnitz production.
