| Obverse description | Quartered shield of arms within a beaded inner circle, displaying the combined heraldic devices of Hungary (horizontal barry), Bohemia (lion rampant), and the Habsburg territories, surmounted by an imperial eagle. The date 1527 appears divided across the upper field flanking the shield. The surrounding Latin legend reads FERDINAND D G VNGA BOEM REX, identifying Ferdinand as King of Hungary and Bohemia by the grace of God. The entire design is contained within a rope or beaded border typical of early sixteenth-century hammered gold coinage. |
