Obverse description Draped bust of Augustus III facing right, wearing a wig with flowing curls in the baroque court style. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the lace cravat and robe. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading the king's full royal titles as Elector of Saxony and King of Poland. The field is smooth and slightly concave, characteristic of Dresden milled gold coinage. The portrait is set close to the inner border of the legend.
