Two hands, issuing from the left and right edges of the field, each grasp one end of the cord, reinforcing the allegory of matrimonial union. The flames rising from the joined hearts are rendered with fine detail in the Baroque manner. The Latin legend INDISSOLUBILITER arcs along the upper portion of the field in Roman capitals, serving as the motto of the piece. |
