背面描述 The reverse depicts a half-length armored figure of Augustus II facing slightly left, wearing a laurel wreath and cuirass, his right arm raised and brandishing a long sword diagonally across the field in a vigorous martial pose. The figure is rendered in high relief with detailed engraving of the armor, lace cuffs, and laurel crown, conveying the ruler's role as warrior-king. The legend PRO REGNO. appears in the upper portion of the field, arcing from left to right. The mintmaster's initials I·K· appear in the lower exergue area beneath the figure. The overall composition reflects the dynamic Baroque medallic style characteristic of the Dresden mint in the late 17th century.

附加信息

August II — Friedrich August I of Saxony — secured the Polish throne in 1697 through bribery on a staggering scale, converting to Catholicism as a political calculation days before his election and reportedly spending over nine million thalers buying noble votes. His Dresden mint struck ducats in that election year as much to project dynastic credibility as to meet any monetary need. The Kop(-) reference signals this piece sits outside Kopicki's numbered corpus entirely, which for a single-year Dresden emission under a freshly crowned foreign king is exactly what the survival record would predict.
