Reverse description A crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed with wings spread occupies the central field, each head turned outward and surmounted by a single imperial crown, with a larger crown above both heads. An oval escutcheon bearing the Moscow arms is placed on the eagle's breast. The eagle's talons grasp a sceptre and orb. The date 1739 appears in the upper field above the crown. The Cyrillic legend IСАМОДЕРЖ·ВСЕРОСИСКАЯ· arcs around the periphery, forming part of the imperial titulature reading 'And Autocrat of All Russia.'
