| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Anna I facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and partially veiled, occupying the majority of the field. The effigy is rendered in a baroque style typical of early 18th-century Russian imperial coinage. A Cyrillic legend arcs along the upper periphery, reading Б·М·АННА·IМПЕРАТРИЦА, meaning 'By the Grace of God, Anna, Empress.' The coin's reeded rim frames the design closely, with the truncation of the bust falling near the lower edge of the field. |
