Obverse description The municipal arms of Chur displayed within an ornate cartouche at the center of the field, depicting a fortified tower above a gate with a rampant ibex, surmounted by a crested helmet with elaborate mantling. The entire device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend reads MONETA NOVA CVRIAE RETICE, separated by a decorative rosette stop, running along the outer border between two beaded rims.

Reverse description A displayed Imperial double-headed eagle with wings spread, each head surmounted by a separate crown, the whole beneath a central imperial crown, all rendered in bold relief within a beaded inner circle. The eagle's talons are extended and its chest feathers are detailed with fine stippling. The circumferential Latin legend naming Emperor Ferdinand III encircles the device between two beaded rims, with the date 1645 appearing prominently at the top of the legend.
