Obverse description The arms of Zürich — two diagonal halves, the dexter half bearing a white-on-blue diagonal stripe — are displayed as a shield at center, supported by two rampant lions facing inward. Behind the shield, a sword and a palm branch cross saltire-wise, their tips rising above the shield. The entire device fills the field with bold hammered relief. The circular Latin legend DOMINE CONSERVA NOS IN PACE runs around the periphery, separated from the inner design by a beaded border.
