| Obverse description | Left-facing bust of Oberyn Martell depicted in high relief, with long flowing hair and armored pauldron visible at the shoulder, rendered in a bold medallic style. The field is plain and unadorned, allowing the portrait to dominate. A circular legend surrounds the effigy, divided into the House Martell motto and the subject's given name, separated by raised dot stops. The legend reads UNBOWED at the left, UNBENT at the top, UNBROKEN at the right, and OBERYN at the base. |

| Additional information |
Dorne, the southernmost of the Seven Kingdoms, was never conquered by Aegon Targaryen's dragons — it joined the realm through marriage alliance in 187 AC, a political distinction its rulers never let anyone forget. Oberyn Martell, the Red Viper, served as a champion in trial by combat before the Mountain crushed his skull in 300 AC, making this a posthumous commemorative of a man who died in the very act of seeking justice for his murdered sister.
