Reverse description A double stellar or double helix pattern — characteristic of the Apollonia Pontika series — enclosed within a square incuse frame formed by two parallel horizontal bars at top and bottom and a vertical bar to the left, creating the distinctive linear square design. The magistrate legend ΧΑΙΡΗΝΟΣ is distributed around the central pattern within the square. The reverse is struck with the typical irregular flan characteristic of hammered Greek coinage of this series.
