Obverse description Right-facing bust of Yazdgird II in high relief, wearing an elaborate Sasanian crown surmounted by a crescent and globe finial, with distinctive crenellated or mural elements at the base. The royal effigy is encircled by a beaded border, with Pahlavi legends extending into the outer margin. The king's hair is rendered in stylized locks falling to the shoulders, and ribbons trail behind the crown in typical Sasanian fashion.
