Obverse description Bust of Yazdgerd III facing right, wearing a distinctive Sasanian mural crown surmounted by a crescent and globe finial, with elaborate ribbon ties flanking the crown. The king is depicted with a bearded effigy, wearing a pearl-bordered diadem and beaded necklace. The bust is enclosed within a double beaded border, with Pahlavi inscriptions surrounding the portrait in the field. Star-and-crescent devices appear in the margins outside the inner border, serving as decorative and dynastic symbols characteristic of late Sasanian coinage.
