| Obverse description | Effigy of Yazdgerd II facing right in profile, depicted with a stylised draped bust. The king wears an elaborate mural crown surmounted by a korymbos — a spherical hair bundle — set upon a crescent, with an inner ribbon visible at the base. The portrait is rendered in the characteristic Sasanian die-cutting style, with bold linear engraving emphasising regal authority. The surrounding field retains the flat, unadorned character typical of early to mid-fifth-century Sasanian silver coinage. |
