| Obverse description | Effigy of the Sasanian pretender Vistahm (Bistam) in right-facing profile, rendered in the characteristic Sasanian high-relief hammered style. The king wears a distinctive mural crown surmounted by a frontal crescent enclosing a pellet, with an additional pellet-in-crescent device set upon a crescent at the apex; pendant ribbons and crescent ornaments adorn the shoulders. Stars are positioned flanking the crown, while pellets-in-crescents within crescent devices populate the outer marginal border, forming the characteristic Sasanian marginal decoration. The portrait displays the fine linear engraving typical of late Sasanian silver coinage, with Inscriptional Pahlavi legends in the field. |

| Reverse description | Central fire altar with billowing flames, from which pendant ribbons hang on either side, presented in the conventional Sasanian frontal arrangement. Two priestly attendants stand in profile facing the altar, one on each side, each bearing a staff or sword and rendered in the stylized linear manner characteristic of late Sasanian drachms. A star and crescent appear flanking the flames above the altar, serving as royal and divine symbols of Zoroastrian significance. Inscriptional Pahlavi legends occupy the fields to the left and right of the composition, recording the king's name and the mint signature. The mint mark LD, corresponding to Rayy, appears within the marginal inscription. |
