The king's effigy, rendered in high relief, is positioned prominently to the left, featuring a richly curled beard, beaded necklace, and a korymbos globe atop his crown. The queen's bust appears in the centre, similarly crowned, while a smaller third figure — the crown prince — is depicted to the right. The composition is enclosed within a beaded border, with Inscriptional Pahlavi legends arranged in the field. This multi-figure obverse type is characteristic of the coinage of Wahram II and is unique among Sasanian issues. |
