Obverse description Jugate busts of Varhran II (Bahram II), wearing a winged crown surmounted by a korymbos, and his queen, wearing a kolah adorned with a boar's head, both facing right, confronted by a bust of the prince facing left and wearing a kolah with an eagle's head. A trefoil of pellets appears behind the king's shoulder. The composition is rendered in the characteristically bold, stylized relief of Sasanian royal portraiture, with regalia serving as dynastic and divine signifiers.
