Immediately before the face, the name of the governor 'Umar b. 'Ubayd Allah is inscribed in Pahlavi script. Behind the royal head appears the Pahlavi benedictory formula KHWARRAH APZWTW (May his glory increase). The outer margin bears an Arabic legend invoking praise to God, characteristic of early Umayyad religious adaptation of Sasanian coin types. |

| Descripción del reverso | Zoroastrian fire altar depicted centrally, flanked by two attendants in the traditional Sasanian style as inherited by Arab-Sasanian coinage. To the left of the fire altar, the regnal year expressed in the Muslim hijri era is inscribed in Pahlavi script. To the right of the altar, the mint name is recorded in Pahlavi script. The overall composition closely follows the standard Sasanian reverse design while incorporating Islamic dating conventions. |
