Reverse description The reverse follows the standard Arab-Sasanian format derived from Sasanian fire-altar reverses, depicting a stylized fire altar at centre flanked by two attendant figures standing in profile facing the altar, each wearing distinctive Sasanian court dress. Three pellets or dots appear above the altar superstructure. The entire design is enclosed within concentric dotted border rings, with small annulet or star ornaments placed in the cardinal positions of the outer field. The Pahlavi legend NWR AFZUT (meaning 'Light increased') appears in the margin, accompanied by the Arabic shahada formula in the field.
