| Obverse description | Laureate draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Bostra mint. The emperor's portrait exhibits bold, slightly stylized features typical of the eastern provincial coinage tradition. A Greek legend surrounds the effigy, reading AYTOKP KAIC NЄP TPAIAN CЄB ΓЄΡΜ ΔΑΚ, abbreviating his imperial titulature including the honorifics Germanicus and Dacicus. The flan is irregular in shape, as is customary for hammered provincial issues of this period. |

At the deity's side stands a small camel, an iconographic motif emblematic of the city of Bostra and the former Nabataean kingdom. A Greek legend is distributed around the field, recording the emperor's tribunician power and consular titles. The composition reflects the hybrid Greco-Roman and local iconographic tradition of the newly established province of Arabia. |
