Reverse description A sea-eagle with outstretched, layered wings perched upon and grasping a dolphin, both oriented to the left, a composition symbolising the maritime power and identity of Sinope. The eagle's plumage is rendered in fine detail with overlapping feathers clearly articulated, while the dolphin's curving body occupies the lower portion of the field. The magistrate's name ΘΕΟΤΙ appears in the upper field between the eagle's wings and body, while the ethnic ΣΙΝΩ, representing ΣΙΝΩΠΗ (Sinope), is inscribed in the lower exergual area beneath the dolphin.
