Reverse description A fire altar (atasdan) occupies the central field, depicted as a tall column with a decorative capitellum and base, above which flames rise. Flanking the altar on either side stand two attendant figures wearing mural crowns (corona muralis), each bearing a sword at the waist and a spear in hand, positioned with their backs toward the altar. A Pahlavi legend appears in the field identifying the sacred fire.
