Obverse description Bare, youthful head of Herakles facing right, depicted without beard, wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress with the scalp drawn over the crown and the paws knotted at the throat. The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic style with fine curling hair visible beneath the lion skin, the whole set within a beaded border.
