Obverse description Bust of the Sasanian king facing right in the style of Khusro II, depicted with an elaborate winged crown surmounted by a crescent and globe, set within two concentric beaded borders. The effigy displays the characteristic Sasanian royal diadem with flowing ribbons, and the face is rendered in fine relief with stylized features typical of Arab-Sasanian coinage. Flanking the bust in the outer fields are small crescent symbols at the three and nine o'clock positions. A Pahlavi or Arabic marginal legend encircles the portrait within the border, identifying the issuer Qatari b. al-Fuja'a, a Kharijite rebel leader who struck coinage in imitation of late Sasanian types.
