Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with curling hair and beard falling in detailed waves across the neck. The portrait is bold and high-relief, characteristic of Thessalian League coinage of the second century BC. The facial features are strongly modelled, with a prominent brow and well-defined ear visible in profile. A small eagle perched with spread wings appears above and behind the head, serving as a divine attribute of Zeus. The flat, irregular flan typical of hammered coinage of this period is evident.
