| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare-headed, diademed bust of Phraates III facing left, rendered in the Hellenistic tradition with finely detailed curled hair and a full beard. The king wears an elaborately jewelled torque around the neck, its terminals ending in a pellet, and a richly ornamented cloak or cuirass decorated with pellets and floral motifs. The diadem ribbon falls behind the neck toward the lower field. The portrait displays the characteristic Parthian royal style, combining Hellenistic sculptural conventions with distinctly Iranian royal iconography. |
