| Obverse description | Diademed bust of Phraates III facing slightly left, wearing a beaded necklace with a central medallion and decorated armour with dotted ornamentation across the chest. The king's hair falls in long, carefully rendered curls to either side of the face, and a full, neatly groomed beard frames the visage. The diadem ribbons are visible behind the head. The portrait is rendered in the mature Parthian style, with a strongly frontal presentation characteristic of late Phraates III coinage. |
