Obverse description Diademed bust of Phraates III facing left, rendered in the Hellenistic tradition with finely detailed curled beard and hair. The king wears a torque necklace adorned with pellets and a richly ornamented garment visible at the shoulder. A long diadem ribbon trails behind the head. The portrait is enclosed within a beaded border typical of late Parthian regal coinage.
