| Obverse description | Bee depicted in high relief facing upward, rendered in fine naturalistic detail with clearly articulated segmented abdomen, outstretched straight wings, and visible legs and antennae. The city ethnic E-Φ (epsilon to the left, phi to the right) flanks the central device in the field. The entire design is enclosed within a prominent beaded border, characteristic of Ephesian coinage of the Hellenistic period. |
