| Obverse description | Frontal facing bust of Orodes II wearing a distinctive tall, striated diadem or mural crown adorned with a crescent symbol at the top. The ruler's facial features are rendered in a stylised, somewhat crude provincial manner typical of late Elymaean coinage, with large almond-shaped eyes and a prominent beard. To the right of the bust, a standing anchor symbol — an emblem of Seleucid and Parthian dynastic heritage — is depicted within the field. The overall style reflects the debased artistic tradition of the Elymaean kingdom, with heavily worn surfaces and irregular flan edges characteristic of hammered provincial issues. |
