Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Orodes II facing left, with short beard and a distinctive wart on the forehead. The king wears a toque headdress terminating in a hippocamp device. A star appears in the field before the bust, while a crescent enclosing a star is placed in the field behind and below. The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition characteristic of early Arsacid royal coinage.

Reverse description The heroized founder-figure Arsakes I is depicted seated right on a throne, holding a bow in his right hand in the traditional Arsacid type. A mint monogram appears below the bow, and an anchor symbol (type IV) is placed behind the throne. The Greek royal titulary is arranged in seven lines within a square border surrounding the central design, a distinctive layout associated with this emission type.
